Pen Addict + Well-Appointed Desk at Wonderpens, plus Scriptus Toronto (via Wonder Pens). The Toronto Pen Show is next weekend, along with the Pen Addict, Well-Appointed Desk Kickstarter Road Show. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this!
Kickstarter: The Penwell Traveler - Portable Pen Holder (via Well-Appointed Desk). Good Made Better, the makers of the original Penwell (review here), have launched a new Kickstarter with a more modern and portable take on the Penwell.
What Is Fountain Pen Ink Chromatography? (via Fountain Pen Love). In the past, I’ve never really understood (a) the purpose of chromatography when testing inks or (b) how to do it, but now I really, really want to try it.
CONID Kingsize Streamline Demonstrator (via SBRE Brown). Looking for a pen that will hold an absolute TON of ink? The standard Conid Bulkfiller is big, but the Kingsize….
The UKFP Holiday Gift Guide 2018 (via UK Fountain Pens). I can’t get my head around the fact that the first of the holidays are a month away, at least here in the States. The annual gift guides should start coming out, well, about now.
The 2019 Lamy Safari Is Announced and I Just Cannot Even (via Fountain Pen Follies). I’m with Laura on this one. It’s almost like Lamy is trying to cover its bases rather than make a hard decision on a single color. That said, I’ll probably buy the “Blue Macaron.”
Pen Sale! (via Pencilcase Blog). Dries is unloading some excess from the collection, and there are some nice pieces available, some of which are discontinued and no longer available.
Montblanc Antoine de Saint Exupery (via Alt.Haven). Yes, this ink is pricey, but it comes in the big crystal inkwell bottle and for some reason, I absolutely love how Montblanc inks perform.
Field Notes End Papers: Initial Thoughts (via The Finer Point). If I’d known that these books weren’t ruled on both sides, I probably wouldn’t have purchased them. That said, I like the taller format and the marbled end pages.
Pelikan’s M620 City Series (2001-2006) (via Pelikan’s Perch). Madrid and Place de la Concorde (Paris) are my two favorites. This collection features some of the best acrylics/resins/acetates Pelikan has ever produced, all in the seemingly neglected M600 size.

TGS Amazon Page. I run across many more items (pens, pencils, books, accessories, etc.) in my online "travels." I can't feature them all on TGS, but Amazon has an option where I can set up an affiliate page to host product recommendations and earn fees on referrals. Amazon does not sponsor or endorse this blog in any way.
In Case You Missed It…
This week on the blog I was getting back into the swing of things following an extended vacation, but managed to find time to step out of my comfort zone a bit, reviewing some letterpress goods sent to me by Meticulous Ink in Bath, England. I also did a traditional pen review of some “old reliables,” the Platinum Preppy and Plaisir, which often serve as a gateway drug to fountain pens for many people. Finally, for this week’s Deals and Drops, I did something a little different, which is devote the post to a theme, leather goods. Let me know how you like that approach, I’m experimenting with some new ideas for the blog.
Happy Sunday, and as always, thanks for reading!
