This week brings us new quarterly releases from Blackwing and Field Notes, as well as yet another Sailor U.S. special edition. Montblanc and Diplomat continue to kill me with some sharp looking red pens, and the 2019 “planner season” is firmly upon us! I may even have buried some hints at future reviews in here….
Baron Fig Slim Bifold Leather Wallet (via Baron Fig). Many thanks to Baron Fig for sending me one of these. I’ve been carrying the Charcoal version for the past two weeks and the leather is aging quite nicely.
Blackwing Volumes 33 1/3 (via Blackwing). I like it. Some people don’t. So be it. I’m a sucker for pretty much anything matte black, as well as vinyl records and the “grooves” on the bottom of the pencil.
Field Notes End Papers (via Field Notes). The first Field Notes edition that’s piqued my interest in a while. I have too many notebooks to re-up my subscription, but I’m going to pick up a couple packs of these because I like the format.
Sailor 1911 Key Lime (via Pen Chalet). Sailor recently announced their latest U.S. exclusive. I love lime green (and key lime pie).
Red Diplomat Aero (via Anderson Pens). Must. Buy. This. Now. Given my obsession with red pens, this is pretty much the only thing that will almost certainly make its way into my pen collection.
Platinum 3776 Oshino Demonstrator (via Pen Chalet). Low inventory at Pen Chalet, and an even lower price, makes this a pen you want to grab before it goes away. Don’t miss my recent review of this great daily writer.
Midori Planners for 2019 (via Vanness Pens). Vanness has 2019 Midori Planners in stock, which I got to see at last weekend’s meetup.
Montblanc M (RED) (via Appelboom). Montblanc has released the “M” by Marc Newson in red, at the same price as the standard edition in fountain pen, ballpoint, and rollerball versions. Check out my review of the Ultra Black Edition here.
Aurora Optima Flex (via Pen Chalet). Huge price drop from Ron here on the Aurora Optima Flex fountain pen, featuring Aurora’s new flex nib. Plus you can grab an Optima in one of the special pastel colors.
Namiki Vanishing Point Deep Yellow (via eBay). One thing I really wish Pilot USA would do is bring back this deep “mustard” yellow Vanishing Point. It’s still available from Japanese sellers.
Jinhao Shark Pens (via Amazon). Looking to get your kids into fountain pens, or just something fun for yourself? I wrote with one of these at this year’s Pelikan Hubs and am continually shocked at how decent they are.
Aurora 88 Sigaro Blue (via Pen Chalet). Another big drop on a recent Aurora release - this one is the gorgeous Sigaro Blue with its marbled enamel finish.
New Star Wars Pens from Sheaffer and Cross (via Goldspot). Sheaffer has released a new round of “Sheaffer Pop Star Wars Collection” pens, with themes such as “Kylo Ren,” “Death Star,” and BB-8. Star Wars-themed rollerballs have also been released under the “Cross X” model.
New Acrylics in PenBBS Official Store (via Etsy/PenBBS). PenBBS keeps adding pens in new wild acrylics on an almost weekly basis.
Planner Supplies from Kawaii Tokyo (via Etsy/Kawaii Tokyo). A Japanese stationery shop that has a wide range of planners and accessories from Hobonichi, Kokuyo, and more.
