It’s Atlanta Pen Show weekend! If you’re within a reasonable drive of Atlanta, you absolutely MUST visit this show, which will be quite the event with the live recording of the Pen Addict Podcast on Saturday. As I usually do in pen show weekend Deals & Drops, I recap a few of the many things I know will be on display at various vendors’ tables, and this time I’ve also included a handful of items I’m bringing for after-hours show and tell in the bar. Hope to see as many of you as possible there!
Pilot Iroshizuku 100th Anniversary Inks (via Vanness Pens). Vanness has a limited stock of the 100th Anniversary Iroshizuku Inks, and will be bringing these new colors to the Atlanta Show this weekend! These inks will sell quickly so don’t hesitate.
Retro 51 Fountain Pens (via Vanness Pens). Retro 51 recently switched to JoWo nibs, which has significantly upped their fountain pen game. These have sold well at recent pen shows, and people seem to be pleased with them.
Diplomat Aero Fountain Pen (via Pen Chalet). Looking for a high quality fountain pen with reliably well-tuned nibs? Diplomat Aeros make for popular, not to mention memorable, pen show purchases due to their unique design. Don’t miss your chance to pre-order this funky new “Volute” design offered by Pen Chalet.
Lamy Safari Pastel Pre-Order (via Pen Chalet). This year’s special edition Lamy Safari is coming soon, and Pen Chalet has opened pre-orders!
Aurora 88 Sigaro Blu Limited Edition (via The Nibsmith). Dan has a few of these left, and I added these to my “Atlanta” links because Atlanta is where I first saw this pen last year, and added to it to my list of 2018 acquisitions. Last chance!
Platinum 3776 Celluloid Collection (via Anderson Pens). Another of my pen show purchases this year was a celluloid Platinum 3776, which has quickly become one of my favorite pen models.
Pelikan M600 Violet-White Special Edition (via The Nibsmith). Pelikan continues their white M600 series, this time featuring a gorgeous striated white and violet cellulose acetate.
Goldspot Weekly Dip Special Featuring Faber Castell (via Goldspot). Goldspot is offering a discounted price on a Faber-Castell Loom fountain pen and ink gift set. Get a Loom with set of five Graf von Faber-Castell ink samples!
Leonardo Momento Zero Sea Stone ST Fountain Pen (via Appelboom). I can’t flog these pens enough - the Momento Zero might be the best pen that’s come onto the market in years.
Quirky Pens I’m Bringing for After-Hours Show & Tell
Desiderata Soubriquet (via Etsy/Desiderata Pens). I recently reviewed this pen, and still receive good feedback on the post from people who think the design of this pen looks intriguing. Let me know if you want to see it.
Kaco Edge (via Amazon). I’ll be bringing mine for #penshowsafterdark. Even if you don’t like the Makrolon aesthetic, you have to appreciate that it’s sold at a ridiculous price for such a good pen.
Kaco Retro (via Amazon). Another silly good deal at the price point, especially if you like hooded nib pens.
Moonman N3 (via Amazon). I recently received this “celluloid” fountain pen from Moonman, and while I’m not sure this is true celluloid in the sense that most pen enthusiasts think of it (no camphor smell - it may be a form of acetate or another derivative), it’s a pretty pen with a good nib.
Additive Pens Double Helix Eyedropper (via Additive Pens). Perhaps my most unique purchase to date at a pen show. I’ll have this one loaded with Pen Addict/Robert Oster “Fire on Fire” orange ink.
