The Chicago Pen Show is this weekend, running today, May 2 through Sunday, May 5. While I can’t make this one (I’m tapped out both financially and energy-wise from my pen show travels the first part of this year), Chicago is always a great show, with many of my friends and sponsors attending. Here are just a few of the things you may be able to see, with a couple more thrown in that I discovered in the wilds of eBay, including what appears to be the return of hyped Chinese brand Live In You. Happy shopping!
Sailor Pro Gear Graphite Lighthouse (via The Nibsmith). Wow. That’s all I can say about this North American Exclusive from Sailor. Dan will have these at the show this weekend, and they are also available on his website. The pen comes in both standard and slim models.
Diamine Aurora Borealis (via Vanness Pens). Diamine has released a new blue-green ink chosen by the r/fountainpens Reddit community. Be sure to check the Vanness Pens table in Chicago!
Limited Edition Pen Rolls and Bags by Rickshaw and Joey Feldman (via Vanness). Originally intended for release at the Los Angeles Pen Show in February, production was slightly delayed and some are still available.
Lamy Safari Pastel Special Edition (via Pen Chalet). Lamy’s latest releases are sure to be popular at this weekend’s pen show, but if you can’t make it, Pen Chalet is running a National Stationery Week Promotion. Use the coupon code NATSTATWEEK at checkout to grab an additional 10% off your order!
Sailor King of Pen (via Anderson Pens). While you should take the opportunity to visit the Anderson Pens store in Chicago, I’m sure they’ll also be bringing a variety of brands and goods to the Chicago Pen Show, including their customary selection of Sailor’s premier King of Pen lineup.
Pelikan Markdowns and More (via Goldspot). This week’s “Weekly Dip” special over at Goldspot is a good one, with discounts on various Pelikan special editions such as the M200 in Smoky Quartz, the M605 Souverain in White Transparent, the M600 in White and Turquoise, and more.
Postmark’d Stationery Subscription Box (via Postmark’d). Postmark’d is a stationery subscription service for snail mail enthusiasts, that allows you to get a monthly delivery of cards, etc. to send to your pen pals! Check the sidebar for a coupon code that will get you a discount off of your first box.
Leonardo Momento Zero in Pietra Marina/Sea Stone (via Appelboom). Still by far my favorite of all the Leonardo materials, the Sea Stone mixes blue into a traditional tortoiseshell pattern.
TWSBI Eco Transparent Orange (via Amazon). Ok, this one finally got me. I’m sure there will be a run on these in Chicago at whichever vendor decides to bring them to the show.
PenBBS 456 Vacuum Filling Fountain Pen (via PenBBS/Etsy). I just ordered a few PenBBS pens for myself, and I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about. This pen in “Vermouth” made it into my cart.
PenBBS 469 Double-ended Fountain Pen (via PenBBS/Etsy). While I’ve handled a few double-ended fountain pens that people have had custom-made, I’ve never seen one go into production.
Live In You Huangyan Resin Fountain Pen (via eBay). Chinese pen company Live In You has received some attention for their unique resins and high-quality production, with some of their pens even making an appearance at last year’s San Francisco Pen Show. Apparently some new models of their pens have reappeared on eBay.
Pens and Everyday Carry Items (via Huckberry). Curated online retailer Huckberry is one of my favorite places to browse online, and they often have good pricing on small-batch stationery and EDC items from brands like Inventery and even Raven Watches.
My Favorite Etsy Stores (via TGS/Etsy). Last week I compiled a list of what I consider to be my favorite places to shop on Etsy for stationery and other analog-related goods. Sponsorships and affiliate programs are how I support the site, and I appreciate all your help in this regard.
