I’m off to D.C.! Since I’m working the Supershow this year from behind the Vanness Pens table, I’m not sure what my capabilities will be in terms of posting daily show recaps. I will, however, be posting to Instagram, so be sure to follow me @gentlemanstationer. In the meantime, here’s a list of things that I’ll be looking out for at the show!
Sailor 1911 Large Epinard Fountain Pen (via Nibsmith). This one is going to be hard to resist, even though my goal is not to come back from D.C. with a bunch of pens!
Vinta Inks (via Vanness Pens). Vanness has imported yet another line of unique fountain pen inks, this time from the Philippines. I’m excited to bring some of these home from D.C. and test them out.
Aurora Black Mamba Limited Edition Fountain Pen (via Nibsmith). I hope someone has a prototype of this pen at the D.C. Pen Show. I’ve not pre-ordered it yet, and would prefer to see it in person first.
Lamy Studio (via Vanness Pens). The Lamy Studio is one of those overlooked fountain pens that, in my opinion, doesn’t receive nearly as much attention as it should. The new Olive and Terra Cotta colors are now available stateside.
Pineider Avatar Demonstrator Fountain Pens (via Pen Chalet). Pineider has released a new demonstrator version of their first fountain pen, the Avatar.
Aurora Vintage Duo-Cart Fountain Pen (via Pen Chalet). I just got my hands on a new, mint green Duo-Cart that I’m enjoying so far. I haven’t had a chance to compare it to the version from a couple years back. Check these out if you get a chance to see them.
Sailor King of Pen (via Anderson Pens). Those ebonite versions are gorgeous and definitely calling my name. At some point I will pull the trigger and acquire a KOP, but probably not this trip (for budgetary reasons).
Esterbrook Estie SE Blueberry (via Pen Chalet). The Esterbrook Blueberry is still available. I’ve not seen it in person, but likely will this weekend.
PenBBS Pens (via PenBBS/Etsy). I bet people will have a LOT of PenBBS at the show, maybe not for sale but definitely after-hours. I’m looking forward to seeing some of the different materials in person before making another round of purchases.
Moonman C1 (via Amazon). The big Moonman! I know several people that have one of these, and again I can’t wait to see this one in person.
Galen Leather (via Galen Leather). Galen Leather is making the trek from Instanbul to this year’s D.C. Pen Show, for the first time! Supposedly they will have their full line of products with them.
Custom Pens from Shawn Newton (via Newton Pens). If you’ve been following his Instagram feed, or have visited his table at recent shows, Shawn has upped his production capacity and will have plenty of inventory in D.C.
Opus 88 Picnic (via Goldspot). This week’s “Weekly Dip” special is crazy good, with Opus 88 Picnic models marked down by close to 50%!
Grandpa’s Basement Clearance (via Vanness Pens). And don’t forget, if you can’t make the D.C. Pen Show (where Vanness will have a clearance section at their table), they are still running a 10% off special in the “Grandpa’s Basement” section of their website. Use the coupon code “SUMMER19” at checkout!
