Spoke Pen Review (via Writing at Large). I’m still awaiting my Kickstarter Spoke Pens, but the early reviews are starting to trickle out. They’re good - as expected!
Graf von Faber-Castell Platinum Plated Perfect Pencil (via Pen Addict). I’ve not yet pulled the trigger on a fancy Perfect Pencil, but I’d love to add one to my collection. It’s as much an iconic objet d’art as it is an actual functional pencil cap. (There’s also a $12 version.)
Faber-Castell Ambition Pearwood (via Well-Appointed Desk). More love for Faber-Castell! I’m glad to see Faber-Castell getting more love. They make some of the best stainless steel nibs out there.
Coloverse Spaceward Sea of Tranquility (via InkSharks). I have Sea of Tranquility in the queue, but haven’t broken it out yet. I do love this shade of green, though.
The Prettiest Estie Yet? (via UK Fountain Pens). Yes, I absolutely agree.
KWZ Brown Pink (via Alt.Haven). Brown Pink is a cool, unique color from KWZ, an ink brand out of Poland that’s fallen out of rotation for me, but I need to get this one inked up in a pen again.
Kaweco Student Fountain Pen 70’s Soul Review (via Pen Addict). Way to go on this one, Kaweco! This release easily is my favorite Kaweco pen from 2019. They nailed the color scheme, which shouldn’t work, but it does.
Apsara Elephant Jumbo Pencil (via Pencil Revolution). Indian pencil company Apsara makes excellent, dark-writing pencils at an extremely inexpensive price. Apsara pencils always go into my yellow envelope when I make a stop at C.W. Pencil Enterprise.
The Gimborn 150 Master: A Pelikan by Another Name (via Pelikan’s Perch). Another interesting Pelikan-related history lesson from the Pelikan’s Perch! Mainline pen companies sometimes would make pens and allow them to be sold under different branding.

In Case You Missed It…
This week on the blog I reviewed a new collaboration between Leonardo Officina Italiana and site sponsor Pen Chalet: an orange and matte black Leonardo Momento Zero with ruthenium-plated trim. I also revisited my favorite (and least favorite) special and limited edition releases from 2019, as we wind up the “majors” of pen show season with this past weekend’s San Francisco Pen Show. Since I was unable to attend, I tried to use this week’s Deals & Drops to sum up the various newly released and special items that would be on display this weekend.
Happy Monday, and as always, thanks for reading!
