While Midori MD Cotton paper was developed with the artist in mind, it’s equally exceptional for writing. Made from 20% soft-textured cotton pulp, this “cult paper” will handle pencil, ink, paint, you-name-it. Notebooks are available in the somewhat unusual F0, F2, and F3 sizes, blank white paper only. The “F” stands for “Figure,” based on the golden ratio for portraits and other pictures.

If you’re unfamiliar with Midori MD Cotton Notebooks, you owe it to yourself to give them a try. F0 measures roughly 5.5” x 7”; F2 measures roughly 7.5” x 9.25”, and F3 is approximately 8.25” x 10.75”. (They are shown compared against a standard A5 notebook in the photo gallery.) These notebooks feature a lie-flat binding, and the F2 and F3 versions offer a lot of space to write, draw, or paint.
