We’ve had some requests for additional pen and pencil cases, and have been looking at bringing in reasonably priced options appropriate for everyday carry. While at NYNow back in January, I came across this line of flat stationery cases by Raymay, from their “Patalino” line. Available in three colors and two different sizes, these cases will hold your pens, mechanical pencils, scissors, rulers, and even feature a pocket to hold a large eraser or case of mechanical pencil leads. I like these cases because they pack flat at only 1” thick, making them very convenient for travel and modular packing that you can easily move between bags. The “Small” case starts at $15, and the “Large” sizes at $21. We also have higher-capacity rectangular pouches from the “Kept” line.

We’ve also had some requests to bring in binders and covers that fit the Clairefontaine looseleaf french-ruled sheets (as well as the other A4 looseleaf and pad-bound paper that we carry). We now have SlideNote covers in the A4 size, which will hold approximately 30 sheets of most A4 paper using a convenient clip binding that allows you to easily swap out and/or rearrange pages.

Curated Shop Updates: New Arrivals from TWSBI!

It’s here! The latest release in a string of exceptional new releases from TWSBI is the TWSBI ECO-T in “Rosso” - the first red pen that TWSBI has done in a while, and I believe the first in the ECO family. For those unfamiliar with this particular model, the TWSBI ECO-T features a subtly triangular grip section, which I personally find very comfortable. You can read more on this particular pen and how it compares to other triangular grip pens here.

We also have additional stock of the TWSBI Kai, the latest edition of TWSBI’s special model that they reissue every couple of years. Previously available in “Aurora” (marbled green) and “Draco” (marbled red) finishes, the new Kai is a deep blue paired with warm rose gold. Mine gets inked up this week!

Thursday Drops: Lamy Pens, Traveler's Notebooks, All the Ballpoints, and More!

Just like last year, March and April have both seen a whirlwind of new releases, pen shows, and all sorts of new arrivals and developments here at T.G.S.! This week’s new arrivals include an array of Lamy products, including the Lamy 2000 lineup, the new AL-Star fountain pens, and more! If you missed out on this week’s release of the Olive Traveler’s Notebooks, we have more on the way (hopefully soon), and if you’re looking to jump sooner than that we have all of the other colors available, as well as a fresh stock of refills and accessories.

The Ohto Rays Gel Pens have arrived! These excellent Parker-style click pens feature the Ohto Flash-Dry .5mm needle-tip refill, which is also available individually.

Lamy 2000 Fountain Pens, Ballpoints, Rollers - Well, Everything! Probably my favorite “all-around” pen in all of its various styles and iterations, the Lamy 2000 pairs Bauhaus-inspired minimalist design with excellent quality and functionality.
Lamy AL-Star Petrol and Lilac Pens. This year’s AL-Star special releases finally did it for me, after a couple of years that I didn’t necessarily find inspiring. The Petrol is absolutely stunning. Available in fountain pens, rollerballs, and ballpoints.
Lamy Special Edition Safaris and Vista Pens. Lamy has released a series of Safaris where they mixed and matched bodies with different color clips, drawing on their extensive library of past designs. We also have the Lamy Vista demonstrators!
Pilot Custom 74 Fountain Pens. After the Lamy 2000, the Pilot Custom 74 is almost certainly my go-to recommendation for a gold-nib fountain pen in the $200 range, especially if you’re looking for something both colorful and exceptionally reliable.
Lamy Pico Pocket Pens. If there’s one pen that I’d love to do more to promote, it’s Lamy’s excellent Pico pocket ballpoint. We also have the Lamy M22 refill available in black and blue, in fine and medium tips.
Traveler’s Company Restock. While our first shipment of the Olive Traveler’s Notebook covers sold out nearly instantaneously, we’re restocked on the standard covers in blue, as well as nearly all standard refills and brass accessories, including the brass clips.
Ohto Ray Needle-Tip Gel Pens. The Ohto Ray features the .5mm needle tip “Flash Dry” gel refill, available for purchase separately. It fits all Parker-style pens, including the Caran d’Ache 849 Rollerball!
Mark’Style “Tous les Jours” Needle-Tip Ballpoint Restock. These ultra-popular needle-tip ballpoint pens are restocked in nearly all colors. We also sell the refills.
Maruman Notepad Holders. We stock a wide range of excellent Maruman Mnemosyne notebooks and notepads, as well as notepad holders in a range of attractive styles. The popular A5 Notepad Holders with five pockets for organizing your notes are back in stock.
Lamy Replacement Nibs, Including Cursive Calligraphy. Looking for extra Lamy nibs? We have you covered, and even added the special Lamy “cursive” nibs with an interesting grind somewhat akin to an Architect/Kodachi. Spotlight on Nahvalur Fountain Pens: Introducing the Year of the Rabbit Limited Edition

Last year we brought Nahvalur (formerly Narwhal Pens) into the shop, driven by two specific models: the “Original Plus” vacuum-filler fountain pen and the “Nautilus” piston filler, featuring Nahvalur’s signature “porthole” ink windows. This week, we’ve not only restocked on the Original Plus but have added two new Nautilus fountain pens and will soon add Nahvalur’s new “Explorer” ink line.

Nahvalur 2023 “Pen of the Year” is Now Available

The big announcement this week is the release of Nahvalur’s 2023 Pen of the Year, the “Year of the Rabbit” limited edition Nautilus. Featuring a pearlescent white resin and a 14k gold nib, this release is limited to 223 pieces worldwide and we were lucky enough to get a handful. Available in either fine or medium.

The white resin used in the Year of the Rabbit pen comes from Starry Night Resins.

As I mentioned above, we’ve also added the classic black Nautilus ebonite piston filler featuring either an antiqued bronze (“Bronze Corydoras”) or black (“Cephalopod Black”) trim, and we once again have all colors of the “Original Plus” fountain pens in stock, including the popular Ocellatus Gold which sold out quickly.
