Pilot has announced its latest US Exclusive: the Custom 74 fountain pen in Lavender Fog. This serene, opaque lavender barrel with silver trim evokes the quiet stillness of morning mist, bringing softness, clarity, and calm intention to every writing experience.

The Custom 74 has long been a beloved part of Pilot’s Fine Writing collection, admired for its smooth 14-karat gold #5 nib and everyday usability. This year’s special release is available in four rare nib sizes: Soft Fine, Soft Fine Medium, Soft Medium, and Double Broad. These expressive nibs offer enhanced line variation and a cushioned, graceful feel across the page. (I suspect that the Double Broad option is a nod to the nib grinders, in case you might want to give them a lot of tipping to work with.)
