The “Vanishing Point” features an excellent 18k gold nib that fully retracts into the pen body, protected by a trapdoor mechanism that also prevents the nib from drying out. The placement of the clip allows you to carry the pen in a shirt pocket in the nib-up position, preventing leaks and spills.

This particular selection of pens is made from Birchwood, carefully selected for its elegant grain patterns, smooth texture, and comfortable grip. This premium material enhances the writing experience with its natural warmth while offering a distinctive aesthetic that differentiates it from traditional metal or resin finishes.

While wood is naturally prone to absorbing moisture, dimensional changes, and machining challenges, Pilot has overcome these limitations through an advanced resin-infusion process. This enhances the wood’s durability and stability, allowing for precise craftsmanship while preserving the organic beauty of the grain.

Each pen ships in a Pilot gift box, and includes an ink converter, a single cartridge, and a metal cartridge cover. Available nib sizes currently include fine and medium. Additional nibs are available for purchase separately, as is the range of bottled Pilot inks.
