Thursday Drops: Roterfaden TGS_25, Inkvent Calendars, New Lochby, and a huge Zento and Anterique Restock!

October 23, 2025

While I took a couple days earlier this week to recover from last weekend’s festivities, we’re right back at it today with all sorts of new arrivals, including plenty of items that just cleared customs! Our pre-holiday shipment of Roterfaden TGS_25 Taschenbegleiters arrived today, with both the Dark Green and new Light Grey versions available for purchase immediately. This will likely be our last shipment for 2025, but I ordered a lot and I expect them to last.

The Lochby Quattro v2 is longer and capable of holding larger pens more comfortably.

Diamine Inkvent Calendars have also arrived and are going fast. While I’ve yet to open one, I hear that this year’s calendar will feature permanent inks as well as sheen, shimmer, and standard versions. Finally, we have the 2026 Traveler’s Notebook Diaries and Special Accessories, new Lochby Cases and Notebook Covers, and additional Uni Zento gel pens and Anterique Pens.

We are open in-store this weekend, 1-6pm on Thursday and Friday and 10am-6pm on Saturday, but please keep in mind that the main shop has moved from Suite 113 to Suite 107. Come see these and many other products in person!

  1. Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter TGS_25. Our A5 Slim Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter has cleared customs, with a fresh shipment arriving today! I have made both the dark green version and new light grey version available for purchase. This will almost certainly be our last shipment of these before the holidays.

  2. Diamine Inkvent Calendars. The Colorverse Advent Calendars sold out just in time for Diamine to arrive! We still have a handful of Inkvent Calendars remaining, and I don’t expect these to last through the weekend.

  3. Bindewerk Flex Linen Cover A5 Journals. Those who enjoy textured paper should love these Bindewerk books, which feature a laid texture with light ruling on ink friendly Italian paper. Many different colors are available!

  4. Traveler’s Company 2026 Dated Refills. We have both Standard and Passport sizes available, and these will also fit the A5 Slim TGS_25 Taschenbegleiter or the Lochby Voyager Journal Cover.

  5. Lochby Mini Venture Pouch. Lochby has released the classic Venture Pouch in a smaller size, for more compact modular carry! These feature the same inverted design, with a pouch on top and a zippered pen case on the bottom. Watch a demonstration of how they work here.

  6. Lochby Quattro v2 Pen Case. The original Quattro pen case has been a best seller for us ever since it launched, and the Quattro v.2 adds a touch of length and wider slots to hold up to 8 pens, if they’re slimmer and/or you don’t mind your pens touching.

  7. Lochby Field Folio, Now in A6! Lochby has expanded the Field Folio range to include not just B5 and A5 but also A6. If you’re looking for a zippered cover for an A6 notebook (including a Hobonichi Techo), please give this one some consideration.

  8. Pilot Prera Fountain Pens. Pilot recently released the Prera in a range of new vintage-inspired colors. You can read my own assessment of this excellent midrange fountain pen in yesterday’s post.

  9. Uni Zento Flow and Zento Standard Gel Pens. The popular Uni Zento is back in stock, in both the metal barrel Zento Flow and the standard Zentos, in .38mm and .5mm tip sizes. More details here.

  10. New Anterique Bicolor Ballpoints, including TGS Colors! I really stocked up on new Anterique colors in this latest order, after you all cleaned us out. Let’s just say I bought a lot of the Maroon and Black Colorway, for obvious reasons.

Just a few of the new colors that arrived this week! We now have 20+ color combinations to choose from in the BiColor Pen section.

Thursday Drops: New Shop, Day One! Traveler's Company Dated Refills, Love & Trip Refills, and More!

October 16, 2025

Today is the first day in our new location, and thank goodness we have plenty of new stuff coming in to fill the shelves! For starters, the Traveler’s Company 2026 Dated refills have arrived, in Standard and Passport Sizes, as well as the 2026 Sticker Sets, Pencil Boards, and Transparent Folders. We also have a small second shipment of Love & Trip Refills, and an initial shipment of the red pen holders if you missed them the first time around.

Finally, we continue to expand our correspondence shop, and now offer Original Crown Mill paper and envelopes. Available in both classic laid texture and the “pure cotton” formulation, Original Crown Mill is ink friendly and makes for distinguished correspondence.

We are open in-store this weekend, 1-6pm on Thursday and Friday and 10am-6pm on Saturday, but please keep in mind that the main shop has moved from Suite 113 to Suite 107. We will be using the “old” space as our warehouse and office area, and for this weekend, we will be hosting an in-store event with Vanness Pens and Newton Pens! See Tuesday’s post for full details.

  1. Traveler’s Notebook 2026 Dated Refills in Standard and Passport. 2026 Calendars are now available in multiple formats in both sizes, Standard and Passport. My personal favorite is the Weekly + Memo, which allows you to see a dated Weekly Layout on the left page with daily notes on the right.

  2. Traveler’s Notebook 2026 Sticker Pack. These sticker assortments are revised annually and allow you to organize and annotate your Traveler’s Notebook however you desire!

  3. Traveler’s Notebook 2026 Pencil Boards/Plastic Sheet. I’ve seen these alternately referred to as plastic sheets or pencil boards, since they can serve as a firm writing surface when you’re on the go, a guide sheet when using blank paper, or both.

  4. Traveler’s Notebook Transparent Plastic Folder. Possibly my favorite quirky Traveler’s accessory, these folders are handy for collecting receipts, folded papers, travel confirmations, and more!

  5. Traveler’s Notebook “Love and Trip” Refills. This year’s themed notebook was a dark red color, so of course it sold out nearly immediately. We have a second shipment of the refills for those who missed the first shipment. Note that this was a small batch as well so there are not many of these.

  6. Lochby Voyager Waxed Canvas A5 Slim Journal Cover. Traveler’s Notebooks (at least the standard version) are in short supply these days, but Lochby’s A5 Slim “Voyager” will fit the refills. Lochby’s own 68gsm Tomoe River refill is quite nice.

  7. Hightide Desk Accessories and Penco Restock. We have additional stock of all colors and sizes of the Hightide Sandglasses, as well as more Penco Perfection pocket pens and a new D1 Multi Pen.

  8. New Pilot Prera Fountain Pens. We’ve restocked on many models of Pilot Pens, and have a shipment of the new solid color Prera fountain pens in Honey Yellow, Porcelain White, Empress Teal, and Cinnamon Brown.

  9. Lamy “Dark Dusk” AL-Star and Safari Fountain Pens. The “Dark Dusk” AL-Star and Safaris have definitely been the best sellers of this year’s special releases. We have the Mint and Sunset pens as well, but we’ve had to restock both Dark Dusks several times.

  10. Uni Style Fit Multi Pens and Refills. One of my favorite features of the new store is the multi pen station, where you can pick from multiple different pen bodies as well as dozens of refills. The Uni Style Fit is super versatile and we have five-slot pens in ten different colors.

  11. Pilot 4+1 Multi Pens. One of the best 4+1 (4 colors plus a mechanical pencil) pens on the market, this pen will take the Pilot Dr. Grip-style refills or the Uni Style Fit gel refills.

The Multi Pen Wall in the Shop is ALMOST finished

Thursday Drops: Pilot Custom 74 Lavender Fog, Pilot Preras, Colorvent Calendars and More!

October 9, 2025

Ok, so with the arrival of the 2025 Colorverse Colorvent Calendars, the holiday season has officially kicked off! If you’re looking to acquire a Colorvent Calendar for this year, please don’t sleep on these as we are already more than halfway sold through our allocation, and once these are gone there will be no more. And no, I have not opened mine yet - there will be no spoilers here until December 1!

I decided to pick a SFM in the Lavender Fog, and a Medium Honey Yellow Prera!

We also received the first shipment of the U.S. exclusive Pilot Custom 74, “Lavender Fog.” I was especially excited for this pen because Pilot has chosen to release it in four relatively uncommon nib sizes: Soft Fine, Soft Medium, Soft Fine-Medium, and Double Broad. (As a huge FM fan, that’s what I picked.) In addition to the Custom 74, we’ve received the latest solid-color Pilot Preras, and have restocked on nearly all Pilot fountain pens and inks!

Our Nashville store is open this weekend from 1-6pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 10-6pm on Saturday. Note that we will be in our current location (Suite 113) before moving over to Suite 107 on the front of the building NEXT WEEK, just in time for our in-store event with Vanness Pens and Newton Pens. Hope to see you there!

  1. Pilot Custom 74 Lavender Fog. This year’s U.S. exclusive release from Pilot features a gorgeous translucent lavender acrylic that to me appears to have almost grey undertones. The kicker is the nib selection here. Soft Fine-Medium for the win.

  2. New Pilot Prera Fountain Pens. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the clear Prera, but once Pilot announced these vintage-y solid colors (Empress Teal, Honey Yellow, Porcelain White, and Cinnamon Brown), I jumped. The Prera is an excellent mid-range Pilot that should appeal to those looking for a midsized pen that is small enough to be portable yet posts long enough to write with for more extensive sessions.

  3. Colorverse Colorvent. Whether you’re an Advent calendar fanatic or simply looking for a way to jumpstart your ink collection by experimenting with 25 different colors, the Colorverse Colorvent Calendar is an excellent solution!

  4. Lamy Studio “Orion” Edition (Fountain Pens, Ballpoints, and Rollerballs). The latest Studio release from Lamy features a deep burgundy matte finish. I personally opted for the rollerball this time, and also went ahead and pulled a Royal Red Matte fountain pen because who knows how long those will last….

  5. Pilot E95s Fountain Pens. We’ve restocked in all nib sizes of what I’d consider one of the best buys on the market for a gold-nib fountain pen. The burgundy and ivory color combination offers a unique look.

  6. Pilot Explorer Fountain Pens and Rollerballs. Pilot’s Explorer line is undergoing a refresh, with some colors being phased out and possibly new colors substituting in. If you’ve been eyeing one of the existing colors, this may be the last shipment before they change over.

  7. Hightide Sandglasses. One of our original items offered in the shop remains one of our top sellers! We have these hourglasses/sandglasses in different colors and time intervals.

  8. Anecdote Hardcover Notebooks. I love the feel of the buckram covers of the Anecdote A5 notebooks, and these have a nice price point. Most colors are back in stock.

  9. Lochby Field Journals and Field Folios. Available in multiple sizes and colors, the Lochby Field Journals (strap closure) and Field Folios (zipper closure) are cord-based journals that can hold up to 6 slim notebooks. The waxed-canvas exterior will patina nicely and makes an excellent alternative for those who don’t want leather.

  10. Notsu Index Cards. These fountain pen friendly index cards are available in graph and dot grid layouts, productivity formats, and a large 5x7 foldable size. Notsu also makes a line of accessories to help you carry and organize your cards.

The new Lamy Studio Orion in all three versions: fountain, rollerball, and ballpoint.

Thursday Drops: New Lamy Studios, TWSBI ECO Carrara + Onyx, and Multiple New Pen Days for Me!

October 2, 2025

Well, it’s been a multiple new pen week for me, with the Lamy Studio Orion (check) arriving, along with the TWSBI ECO Carrara White + Onyx (check), and I finally pulled one of the Royal Red Matte Studios (check) before they go away. We also have additional stock of the Lamy AL-Star Dark Dusk, and nearly all Lamy 2000 models, so we’re ready for opening hours this weekend!

Two of Joe’s new pens.

While Traveler’s Notebooks have been in short supply recently due to manufacturer delays, we still have stock of the Passport size Traveler’s Notebook in most colors, as well as similar alternatives such as the Lochby Voyager which will take the same A5-Slim size refill. And as a special update, we have reordered additional stock of the Roterfaden TGS_25, in both the original olive green AND a possible new colorway! Stay tuned for details.

We will be open this week for normal hours, including from 1-6pm Thursday and Friday, and from 10am-6pm on Saturday. You can always check the main store page for updated hours and announcements regarding special events.

  1. Lamy Studio “Orion” Special Edition. This year’s 2025 Special Edition Lamy Studio has arrived, and we are happy to offer it in fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint! We also have additional stock of the Royal Red Matte Studio and a handful of the “Dark Forest” Rollerballs from a few years ago.

  2. TWSBI ECO Carrara + Onyx Fountain Pens. The latest release from TWSBI’s swirled acrylic collection didn’t escape my pen case, and this one gives the excellent ECO Serpentine Bronze a run for its money.

  3. New Tom’s Studio Wren and Lumos Pens. Tom’s Studio has released their refillable fineliners in some special release colors and materials, including the new Brass Wren that we received Tuesday.

  4. Lamy AL-Star Dark Dusk and Mint Special Edition Fountain Pens. We sold out of the “Dark Dusk” very quickly and are happy to report that it is now back in stock.

  5. Lamy 2000 Fountain Pens. Extra-fine and fine nibs are back in stock! The Lamy 2000 remains my “desert island” fountain pen. It’s probably not even close.

  6. Lamy 2000 Multi Pen (4-Color Ballpoint). The multi pen version of Lamy’s flagship might be our top seller both online and in-store. Because this pen takes D1 refills, you can outfit it with the included Lamy refills or substitute low-viscosity ballpoint ink like Uni’s Jetstream or Pilot’s Acro-Ink.

  7. Traveler’s Notebooks (Passport Size). As mentioned above, Traveler’s Company has experienced production and demand issues, with notebooks in short supply. We currently have the Passport size in most colors.

  8. Lochby Voyager. With Traveler’s Notebooks in short supply, attention had turned to other covers with the same A5-slim dimensions. The Lochby Voyager takes the A5-slim “TN” format and translates it to Lochby’s Field Journal system, with four cords and a strap that closes securely. You can fit up to six refills in this cover without using rubber bands.

  9. Notsu Rounded 3x5 Dot Grid Index Cards. These ever-popular fountain pen friendly index cards are back in stock, along with all of the various Notsu accessories. While the 3x5” cards are the most popular, we also have…

  10. Notsu 5x7 Dot Grid Index Cards. We have more of the larger-format Notsu index cards, since our initial test order proved popular. These large index cards are foldable to a roughly 3.5” x 5” passport size.

For me there was only one color match for this pen.

Thursday Drops: TWSBI ECO Carrara with Onyx Pre-Order, an ECO Serpentine Bronze Restock, and Yes, We Still Have Anterique!

September 25, 2025

That was quite a week! Topping off our one-year anniversary as a brick-and-mortar store, we had a rush on Anterique Ballpoints, combined with a new TWSBI pre-order opportunity for the Carrara + Onyx ECO Fountain Pen. The Carrera + Onyx model features white resin with a black swirl, and follows on the heels of the ultra-popular ECO Serpentine Bronze. (We currently only have the Serpentine Bronze in Broad and 1.1mm stub, but have more on the way, after I was concerned that they had sold out.)

We’ve also restocked on many favorite iLootPaperie Washi Tapes, and have added tapes from other brands including CoraCreaCrafts and Well-Appointed Desk. We’ve also dramatically expanded our selection of sticky notes, index tabs, and document flags, just in time for planner season!

We will be open this week for normal hours, including from 1-6pm Thursday and Friday, and from 10am-6pm on Saturday. You can always check the main store page for updated hours and announcements regarding special events.

  1. TWSBI ECO Carrara with Onyx Fountain Pen (Pre-Order). The latest TWSBI ECO release is now live and available for pre-order. This latest addition to the “Swirled Resin” collection features a gorgeous white with black swirl inspired by marble.

  2. TWSBI ECO Serpentine Bronze Fountain Pen. I’m not sure that I’ve seen a TWSBI fountain pen fly off the shelves faster than the Serpentine Bronze fountain pen.

  3. Anterique Ballpoint Pens. The Strategist strikes again! We’ve had a run on both the standard and brass versions of the Anterique ballpoints, which feature a .5mm Japanese low-viscosity ballpoint refill. You can read more about these from Tuesday’s posts, including links to the article in question.

  4. Blackwing Volume 292: The Keith Haring Pencil. Blackwing’s latest release features Keith Haring’s famous dancing figures, paired with Blackwing’s balanced “Pearl” graphite. This is one of the better Blackwing collaborations I’ve seen, from one of my favorite artists.

  5. Blackwing One-Step Long-Point Pencil Sharpeners. Easily the best-selling “curved” long-point pencil sharpener in our store, this not only leaves an exceptionally sharp point but has a receptacle to hold shavings.

  6. Blackwing Pencil Essentials Set. This pencil essentials set includes one of each different type of Blackwing Pencil, as well as a long-point pencil sharpener and a Blackwing pencil cap - the two most popular Blackwing accessories. It’s a great way to experiment with the different graphites in the Blackwing lineup.

  7. Viarco Vintage Pencil Set. Made in one of Europe’s last functioning pencil factories, Viarco pencils come in a half-dozen different designs inspired by Viarco’s creations from 1950s Portugal. You can grab a dozen of each with these sets.

  8. iLoot Paperie Washi Tapes. We are restocked on nearly all of the iLootPaperie Washi Tapes, including many of the different snail mail and letter-themed designs that have proven popular over the years. We also have stationery and analog-themed enamel pins and buttons!

  9. Laconic Tokyo A5 6-Ring Binders. Looking for a higher-capacity binder than some of the other options out there? This Laconic binder can work as an “archive” notebook to complement brands like Plotter and Filofax, or it can serve as a larger stand-alone planner binder.

  10. Laconic Tokyo A5 6-Ring Binder Inserts. While we’re still waiting on the arrival of dated planner inserts (coming in October), we have plenty of stock of Laconic’s diverse array of undated A5 binder inserts in formats such as planners as well as “To Do,” Think, and other lifestyle and productivity layouts.
