Thursday Drops: TWSBI ECO Rootbeer Is Back! Plus TRAVELER'S Notebooks, Maruman Mnemosyne and More!

Summer restocks and new releases have started to arrive, including a much-anticipated restock of the TWSBI ECO Rootbeer + Bronze, and the Kaweco Perkeo in Pearlescent Green. We’ve also received a handful of TRAVELER’S Notebooks in Standard and Passport sizes, a full shipment of Viarco pencils from Portugal, and more!

Kaweco’s Pearlescent Green Perkeo simply won’t stay in stock anywhere.

I wanted to take the opportunity to spotlight two gorgeous new additions to our Roterfaden lineup: the Taschenbegleiter LTD_039, with a natural leather cover, and the Taschenbegleiter SO_26, which pairs “Smoke Blue” with olive suede. Both of these are smaller test orders, and we will try to get more if we can, but for now they are limited quantity!

1. TWSBI ECO Rootbeer Fountain Pens. Possibly the most popular and in-demand fountain pen that TWSBI has made in a while, the transparent ECO “Rootbeer” features clear amber acrylic paired with bronze trim.

2. TWSBI ECO Serpentine + Bronze Fountain Pens. If you’ve been thinking about an ECO Serpentine fountain pen, now would be the time, as they’ve been on the market for a while. TWSBI tends to rotate its colors in and out of the lineup.

3. TWSBI ECO Black + Bronze Fountain Pens. Similar to the Serpentine, the Black+Bronze ECO features swirled black acrylic and bronze trim.

4. Kaweco Perkeo Fountain Pens. We received a fresh shipment of the Pearlescent Green Kaweco Perkeos, in addition to a general restock of Kaweco Sport fountain pens, inks, and more.

5. TRAVELER’S Notebook Starter Kits. We have a fresh shipment of Traveler’s Notebooks in stock in multiple colors, two of which are Standard size and two of which are Passport.

6. Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter TGS_25 A5 Slim Notebook Covers. Our own exclusive design is back in stock, in the green leather colorway with both elastic options (grey and light green).

7. Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter A5 Notebook Covers. In addition to the A5 Slim Notebook covers, we have a fresh shipment of standard A5 covers as well.

8. OnionBrand A5 Leather Covers. These simple-yet-elegant leather notebook covers come in multiple finishes and use a cord-based binding system that will hold up to two slim notebooks or one thicker notebook.

9. Viarco Wood Pencils. A fresh shipment from Portugal landed this week, including standard and vintage-style woodcase pencils in multiple designs and hardnesses. Viarco is one of the last surviving European pencil manufacturers.

10. Graphilo Paper. Kobeha’s Graphilo paper is some of the most ink-friendly paper available, in that it resists any feathering or bleedthrough and showcases ink color nicely. We recently updated the “Hierarchies of Fountain Pen Friendly Paper” resource to include Graphilo as an easy “Tier One” paper choice.

Oh, and one last thing! Uni Zento Flows and Zento Gel Refills are now restocked!

New Arrivals: TRAVELER'S Notebooks in Standard and Passport, Plus OnionBrand A5 Leather Covers!

TRAVELER’S Notebooks are more popular than ever, and we have a fresh shipment that arrived yesterday. Currently we have Passport-size Starter Kits in Black and Blue, and Standard-size Starter Kits in Olive, as well as most refills and accessories with more on the way for those items that are currently sold out.

If you prefer full A5-size notebooks, we’ve also received a fresh restock of handmade OnionBrand leather covers. OnionBrand is a local Nashville maker specializing in leather, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to work with them to bring you these A5 covers that can hold up to two slim A5 notebooks or one full-size notebook or planner. (Currently I have my A5 Wonderland222 planner in one of the “Polished Saddle” covers.)

Thursday Drops: More Roterfaden Taschenbegleiters, Plus a Handful of Lamy Safari Pencils with Kuru Toga Inside!

It’s time to start restocking the store in advance of the summer tourist season, as well as the late summer pen show season (though given the pace at which some of these things are going out the door we may need a new order by August)! We have more Roterfaden A5 Slim TGS_25 covers, as well as several different A5 styles with both three and four-clip variants available. In addition to Roterfaden, we also recently received a small shipment of the Lamy x Uni Safari mechanical pencils that include Uni’s proprietary Kuru-Toga rotating mechanism to help keep your lead sharp as you write.

Yes, it’s just as good as I imagined.

Finally, we have new desk and reading accessories, including a new color of washi tape from Nick Dominguez, Hibi Japanese Incense Matches, and new colors of Toyo Steel Boxes!

1. Roterfaden TGS_25 Taschenbegleiter Restock (Green Leather). We’ve restocked on our A5 Slim exclusive edition for the summer, with the green leather version once again available with either a grey or light green elastic.

2. Roterfaden A5 Taschenbegleiter. In addition to the A5 Slim, we also have several different A5 Taschenbegleiter covers in both three and four-clip setups (which hold three and four notebooks, respectively).

3. Roterfaden Taschenbegleiter LTD_028. We have additional stock of the new B5 Taschenbegleiter, which is sized to accept both B5 notebooks and classic US composition books.

4. Lamy x Uni Lamy Safari with Kuru-Toga Inside. Lamy has partnered with Uni to incorporate their Kuru-Toga mechanical pencil engine into the Lamy Safari and Vista mechanical pencils. Typically available only for the Japanese market, we have been able to secure a small shipment of these for our shop. Extremely limited.

5. Lamy x Uni M17 Jetstream Refill for Lamy Ballpoints (including Safari). On the ballpoint side, Lamy and Uni have collaborated to add Jetstream ink to Lamy’s proprietary ballpoint refill. You can now add a .5mm or .7mm Jetstream cartridge to any Lamy ballpoint pen that ships with the M16 refill.

6. Lamy AL-Star Disco and Roller Skate Special Edition Pens. The latest AL-Star release has arrived! These bright two-toned colors will appeal to any fans of the 1970’s and/or 1980’s aesthetic. (Personally, we think they lean 80s.)

7. Lamy AL-Star Disco and Roller Skate Special Edition Mechanical Pencils. The same Disco and Rollerskate colorways are available as a .5mm mechanical pencil, so that you can create a matching set.

8. Toyo Steel Boxes. These popular Japanese steel storage boxes are back in multiple new colors. Toyo boxes hold anything from small office supplies to ink samples to other collectibles. Boxes that have identical footprint dimensions will stack.

9. New Nicolau Washi Tapes! Our friend Nick Dominguez has designed a second series of washi tape, in a purple colorway. We love this simple design and are excited to see it expand. For more of Nick’s work, check out our exclusive collaboration with Rickshaw, which features three different “cloud” designs hand-drawn with multishading fountain pen inks.

10. Hibi Japanese Incense Matches. A fun new addition to our desk and reading accessories, these Japanese incense matches offer an easy way to add calming scents to your everyday work or journaling practice. (They’re also a great way to freshen up a warehouse. Just saying.)

New Arrivals: Huge Roterfaden Restock with TGS_25 Taschenbegleiters, Full A5 Sizes, and More

Our Summer Roterfaden restock arrived sooner than we anticipated, meaning that we now have additional stock of the A5 Slim TGS_25 Taschenbegleiter in the Dark Green leather with grey interior and grey or light green elastics. These are available to ship immediately. We also have a fairly large selection of standard A5 Roterfaden Taschenbegleiters in various leather and felt/suede combinations, as well as additional stock of the B5 Taschenbegleiter LTD 028.

I’ve had some requests for additional information and explanation about how the Roterfaden notebook system works. I’ve generally been referring people to this YouTube video, in which I walk through my own setup.

Please note that pickup by appointment prior to Thursday is not available in the Nashville shop this week. If you would like to reserve a specific Taschenbegleiter to pick up in-person, you can select “Local Pickup” at checkout. You will receive an e-mail letting you know when your order may be picked up during normal business hours, which will be Thursday and Friday from 1-6pm and Saturday from 10-5pm.

Thursday Drops: New Arrivals from Tom's Studio, Anterique, Toyo and More!

Just in time for the summer season, we’ve received a restock of shop favorites including Toyo Steel Boxes and the Tom’s Studio Fineliner lineup. In addition to the Lumos and Wren, we now have the Ori “Infinitely Refillable” Highlighter, as well as the Tom’s Studio Highlighter inks and a full lineup of Tom’s Studio fountain pen inks in both standard colors and shimmer. Certain colors (specifically Clementine and Espresso) have been in high demand and are now back in stock. Note that we also have Tom’s Studio replacement nibs, ink reservoirs, and other parts.

Did I mention we have additional TWSBI fountain pens in many different materials and nib sizes?

1. Toyo Steel Boxes in New Colors. We received a new shipment of Toyo Steel Boxes in several sizes and several new colors, including gorgeous indigo and lilac shades. These steel boxes from Toyo are useful for storing small bottles of ink, washing tapes, and other desk and office supplies.

2. Tom’s Studio Ori Refillable Highlighters. The latest release from Tom’s Studio features refillable highlighter pens in three different color combinations and six different fluorescent inks. Two of the inks (green and purple) are dye-based and can be used in the Lumos pens.

3. Tom’s Studio Lumos Refillable Fineliners. We received a shipment of Lumos Duo pens in all colors, so we are fully stocked. For those of you coming to see us in person in the Nashville shop, we have new Lumos testers inked up with several different tip sizes. You can read more about how these work and why we like them here.

4. Tom’s Studio Wren Fineliner Pen. If you are looking for a pocketable refillable fineliner to use mainly for writing, consider the smaller Tom’s Studio Wren!

5. Tom’s Studio Fountain Pen Inks. Safe for use in all fountain pens and Tom’s Studio refillable fineliners, the Tom’s Studio line of inks features 20+ ink colors. We have all of them currently in stock as of the time of this post.

6. Anterique GP1 Gel Pen. Is it a click pen, or a capped pen? This new gel pen from Anterique features a smooth .5mm gel refill in multiple colors that match the “cap” of the pen. (It’s not a capped pen - it’s actually a click pen that looks like a posted vintage-style ballpoint!)

7. Anterique Classic Ballpoint Pen. The cult classic that went viral overnight is back in stock in many popular colors. These Anterique ballpoints feature a smooth low-viscosity ballpoint refill that’s perfect for everyday writing.

8. Life Paper. We are restocked on Life Noble Note, Typewriter Paper, and Airmail/Onionskin pads. Life Paper is widely regarded as some of the most fountain pen friendly paper available and is prominently featured in our long-running post “Hierarchies of Fountain Pen Friendly Paper.”

9. Diamine Bottled Ink. We recently received a restock shipment of Diamine Ink, including favorite colors like Writer’s Blood, Oxblood, and Lady Grey. We even have single bottles of some of our favorite past Inkvent Colors!

10. Diamine Ink Cartridges. In addition to the Diamine assortment packs, we now have single-color packs of select Diamine Inks, including Writer’s Blood, Early Grey, and more.

Oh, and as a special surprise, we have a couple of Itoya Helvetica ballpoints that I brought back from Japan! These won’t be a regular item so be sure to grab one as available.
