Thursday Drops: New Notsu Paper, Permanent Platinum Inks, and a July 4th Weekend Promo!

Notsu continues to expand their lineup of fountain-pen-friendly organizational products, including more blue Centre Rise notecard holders, new sticky notes, and a new set of “To Do” desk pads. We’ve also received a fresh shipment of Platinum inks (including two new permanent inks) as well as a new addition to the Colorverse “Joy in the Ordinary” collection. Finally, we have more of our favorite iLootPaperie Washi Tape, as well as new Well-Appointed Desk stamps and stickers.

1. Notsu Centre Rise To Do List Card Stand. The Notsu Centre Rise card box/organizer is back, and now with a blue option in addition to black and orange!

2. Notsu Large Format Dot Grid Notecards. These large 5x7 notecards are back in stock, and they fold in half so that you can tuck them away inside your notebook, pocket or bag for quick reference.

3. Notsu Dot Grid and Graph Sticky Notes. These sticky notes are sold in a four-pack, and feature dot grid, graph, or colored graph paper.

4. Notsu Writing Pads and To Do Pads. Notsu paper works well with most inks, and the thicker paper stands up well in a desk pad. In addition to the dot grid and graph pads (available in both letter and A5 sizes), Notsu now makes

5. Platinum Classic Inks. This series of fountain pen friendly iron gall inks offers six different colors that become permanent when they dry. Iron gall is a classic ink formulation used for centuries for archival purposes, and darkens as it dries, resulting in a unique look reminiscent of vintage letters.

6. Platinum Pigmented Inks. We’ve expanded our offering of Platinum Pigmented inks to include Brun Sepia, a permanent brown.

7. Platinum Chou Kuru Black. Do you require the ultimate black ink? As in, an ink as dark as you can possibly make it? Chou Kuro should be on your radar. While definitely one of the more premium inks that we sell, it’s always difficult to keep in stock.

8. Colorverse Joy in the Ordinary Inks. One of this year’s sleeper hits for us, the Colorverse “Joy in the Ordinary” line includes muted pastel inks and now the grey “Under the Shade.”

9. iLootPaperie Washi Tape (Yes, Including the Really Fun Ones!). We’ve restocked on our best-selling washi tape of all time. IYKYK.

New Arrivals: More Index Cards, and Introducing Notsu Dot Grid Sticky Notes!

We’re back from the 2026 California Pen Show, and happy to report that one of our favorite product lines, Notsu notecards, were a hit! These ink-friendly index cards come in a wide range of formats and sizes (including new 4x6 To Do Cards) and Notsu has recently introduced a line of dot grid sticky notes as well. We’ve also received a shipment of new Rite-in-the-Rain index cards, for those who need weatherproof paper or just want more durable index cards that will withstand spills. Index cards are a core category for us and we’ll continue to bring in as many different varieties as possible!

ROTERFADEN UPDATE: I received notification this morning that we have a shipment of Roterfaden TGS_25 Taschenbegleiters in the green leather that are set to leave Germany this week. I have made a number of them available for pre-order on the site for those who have expressed interest and would like to reserve one. Please note that any additional items placed in the same order will ship with the Taschenbegleiters when they arrive, probably within two weeks but customs delays can be unpredictable so a time frame is not guaranteed. We do have one grey TGS_25 with a green cord that is available for immediate shipment. 

Normal shipping times and store hours will resume this week! All orders placed while we were in California should ship in the next day or two, and we will return to normal store hours (1-6pm Thursday and Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturday).

New Arrivals: More Index Card Formats from Notsu!

We have more Notsu! One of our favorite discoveries of 2025 has been the Notsu Index Card system, which features a series of desktop notecard sets that include the “Centre Rise” and “To Do” organizers. The rounded dot grid version of these ink-friendly index cards is now available in a larger 5x7 format, and the cards are creased to fold to a more portable 3.5x5 inch size. We have also added the 3x5 grid/graph index cards. Be sure to check out all of our Notsu offerings, including not just the cases but accessories like vegan leather card holders, as well as Notsu’s line of notebooks and writing pads. Notsu cards are incredibly ink friendly, and one of the best options for index cards that handle fountain pens well.

Thursday Drops: Notsu Restock, Zebra Sarasa Grands, and Memorial Day Weekend Sale and Clearance

You all really can’t get enough of the index cards! We were basically sold out as of yesterday afternoon, but today I picked up a fresh box in the mail from Notsu, which included not just additional Centre Rise notecard sets but also 3x5 Dot Grid Cards with rounded corners. Other new arrivals include a restock of the Zebra Sarasa Grand Vintage gel pens (the upgraded anodized models) in most of the popular .5mm tip size, as well as additional TRAVELER’S Notebooks in Olive and Camel. (The Camel has been backordered for a long time, and I know people have been waiting for it.)

Oh, and a bonus: The “New” Iroshizuku colors are back in stock! Syun-gyo, Rikka, and To-ro are all available in relatively limited quantities, but hopefully they will be easier to restock going forward.

1. Notsu Centre Rise Card Sets. You all keep buying them, so we’ll keep restocking them for as long as we can, in whatever colors we can get! The Notsu Centre Rise includes 50 Vertical “To Do” Notecards, dividers, and a magnetic carrying case that doubles as a notecard stand for your desk.

2. Notsu 3x5 Dot Grid Index Cards. The standard Notsu 3x5 Dot Grid Index Cards with rounded edges are back! These cards likewise fit the Centre Rise cases, and can be used interchangeably with the “To Do” system.

3. Notsu Dot Grid Writing Pads. Notsu also makes letter-sized and A5-ish Dot Grid writing pads, which are great general-use desktop paper pads.

4. Notsu Index Card Holder. These vegan leather card sleeves hold a handful of 3x5 index cards, with a magnetic “portfolio” feature to hold one card while writing, along with a pen loop.

5. Zebra Sarasa Grand Gel Pen Restock. These excellent gel pens are back in stock in the upgraded “Sarasa Grand” style, which features a textured anodized metal barrel with a matching refill. Extra refills are available separately. The .5mm had almost completely sold out, but is now available in all shades.

6. Maruman Spiral Note Basic Notebooks. These simple, utilitarian notebooks from Maruman feature slightly lighter paper than the flagship Mnemosyne lineup, but handle fountain pen ink just fine and are an excellent economical option for everyday writing. Multiple rulings available in both A5 and B5 sizes.

7. Traveler’s Notebooks in All Colors. All colors are back in stock as of yesterday, including the Standard Size in Camel and Olive. Get ready for your summer adventures with a brand new Traveler’s Notebook!

8. Lochby Field Folio. If the narrower width of the Traveler’s Notebook doesn’t suit your needs, consider the A5 Lochby Field Folio, which is a zippered version of the classic Lochby Field Journal minus the hook-and-loop closure. The Field Folio also contains an interior pen loop.

9. Lochby Field Journal and Pocket Journal Refills. We recently received a massive restock of the Lochby A5 and pocket-sized notebooks, all of which contain 68gsm Tomoe River paper. These can be used with the Lochby cases, or with any similarly sized notebook system.

10. Lochby B5 and A5 Slim Notebooks. AND, Lochby has recently released a larger B5 version of their slim notebooks, as well as an A5 Slim Version which should fit Travelers and other similarly sized A5 Slim/Personal notebooks.

Many thanks to Brad at the Pen Addict for giving us a shout yesterday, and I’m glad to see that he’s enjoying the Notsu Index Cards he picked up at the Atlanta Pen Show! (He’s also giving some away!) These fountain pen friendly index card sets tend to sell out quickly after they arrive, but we’re constantly restocking so if the exact item you want isn’t showing as in-stock, be sure to check back. As we’re discovering once you have access to the full manufacturers’ catalogs, there are tons of exceptionally good pens, pencils, and more out there that don’t receive much attention from the FOMO factory on social media simply because they’re not “new”, despite being well-made and even unique! We had a few such items arrive recently, including the Lamy Logo “Tri Pen” Multi Pen (which uses the same gravity-driven color selector as the Lamy 2000), as well as the TWSBI Diamond Mini in the “Classic” (Black Cap) color. We make every effort to stock some of the lesser known pens, some of which fly under the radar for reasons I cannot comprehend. (Like the polished wood Lamy 2000 ballpoints….)
